Energy Systems Catapult – LAEPs

Energy Systems Catapult is a government-backed organisation created by Innovate UK as part of a network of world-leading innovation centres. Its role is to drive collaboration between industry, government, academia, and research organisations, helping to turn innovative ideas into practical products and services.

One of its flagship initiatives is Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs), a framework designed to support local authorities in identifying the changes needed to achieve net zero targets. 
By taking a whole energy systems perspective, LAEPs enable effective collaboration and decision-making across sectors.

To support this initiative, we were commissioned to create an explainer video to help communicate the purpose and process behind Local Area Energy Plans.

The concept was created in-house combining a range of animation software and footage.
