3D Animation: Foot & Ankle – Biomechanics of the human gait
Challenge
Our client required an engaging way to demonstrate the biomechanics of the human gait cycle.
The animations were primarily intended as orthopaedic teaching aids, helping their Foot & Ankle sales representatives when in discussion with consultant surgeons about complex movement patterns and potential abnormalities.
Solution
We created a series of 3D animations detailing the gait cycle step by step.
Drawing on our background in character animation, we combined visual storytelling techniques with a medically accurate approach, ensuring that every detail was both scientifically precise and easy to follow.
Impact
The animations equipped sales representatives with a professional and credible communication tool, strengthening their discussions with surgeons.
Beyond the initial brief, the work has also been used by senior academics* in anthropology lectures, further underlining its educational value.
